This summer saw unusually frequent typhoon activity, with heavy rainfall repeatedly striking many parts of my country. With the floods hitting, the drainage network is operating at full capacity, causing severe flooding on the city's main roads. This isn't because the network isn't working hard enough, but because it's simply "overwhelmed." The drainage network in the old city was mostly built in the 1980s and 90s, with small diameters and lower standards, which are sufficient for daily rainfall. However, if the network is clogged with silt, damaged, or blocked by tree roots and debris, its drainage effectiveness will be significantly reduced during heavy rains.

The pipeline network is like the blood vessels of a city. If the blood vessels are blocked or ruptured, flooding is inevitable when heavy rain comes.
